Fairview Pinotage 2023

Description

Fairview Pinotage 2023 reflects the heritage of Paarl, crafted from older dryland bush vines and trellised vineyards rooted in decomposed granite soils. Harvested in February 2023, the grapes were handpicked across several days for optimal ripeness, destalked, and lightly crushed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks and open-top wooden foudres, before the wine matured for 16 months in a mix of 15% new French oak and seasoned American oak barrels.

This Pinotage shows a youthful ruby red colour in the glass. The nose reveals bright aromas of red cherries, berries, and plum, layered with subtle oak spice. On the palate, dark fruit flavours dominate, supported by a full-bodied structure, fresh acidity, and firm, well-integrated tannins. Built to reward patience, it has a recommended ageing potential of up to five years. Fairview Pinotage 2023 is a fine partner to beef fillet, spicy Cape Malay curries, or other robust dishes.
