Fairview Chenin Blanc 2023

R105.00 VAT Inc.

Pale straw colour in the glass. The wine has an abundance of summer fruit notes of pineapple, peach and subtle limes. A medium bodied palate with yellow fruited sweetness, a touch of creaminess from the barrel component, followed by a lingering dry and crisp finish. Best enjoyed in the next year or two.

Description

Produced from two distinct vineyard sites, a bush vine vineyard in Darling and from south-facing vineyards on Paarl Mountain. The Darling vineyard is approximately 300m above sea level on the west-facing hills outside Darling, planted in 2001 and is dryland farmed. The Darling Chenin Blanc vineyard is planted in decomposed granite soils, which differs from the surrounding vineyards, which are mostly planted in clay-heavy oakleaf soils. The Paarl vineyards are also planted in decomposed granite soils, but are trellised and drip irrigated. Both sites deliver great expressions of this versatile variety.
