Juno Shiraz Mourvèdre Viognier 2024 is a bold yet refined Rhône-style blend. Dense ruby in colour, it opens with blueberry, blackberry and plum from Shiraz, enriched by Mourvèdre’s earthy notes of leather and black olive, while Viognier adds subtle floral and stone fruit layers.
The palate is full-bodied and velvety, showing ripe plum, cassis and black cherry, seamlessly balanced with dark chocolate, star anise, pepper and hints of game. Structured tannins support the rich fruit core, leading to a long finish with lingering spice and berry compote.
Perfect for pairing with ribeye steak, roast lamb, slow-cooked beef bourguignon or Moroccan tagine, this blend also complements venison, duck confit, robust cheeses, and charcuterie. For dessert, try it with dark chocolate torte or berry compote over panna cotta.
Sold as 2022 but received 2024...very dissapointed
Checkers did an Oddbins number 996 version of this blend that was a lot better. I purchased this expecting the same or better. But a very smooth wine.
