Juno Chenin Blanc 2020

Something strange and beautiful has been happening in the Swartland. Some call it a revolution, others an evolution. Juno calls it adventure. As a winemaker, she was compelled to make wine in the dryland conditions of the Swartland region. Think hot, unforgiving sun. Little to no rain. Pretty perfect for cultivating Rhône-style varieties, wouldn’t you say? And so that’s exactly what Juno did, knowing the vines would thrive in a similar climate to their origin. The result? A rich, diverse and fruit-forward range of wines that has inspired winemaking as the core ingredient of every bottle.

The grapes were sourced from vineyards in the Malmesbury region on clay-loam soil. The grapes were picked by hand before sunrise to retain the natural flavour of the fruit. Free-run juice was used for fermentation where after the wine was left on the lees for two months before bottling.

This crisp and fruity Chenin Blanc has hints of juicy apricots, green guavas and dried pear on the nose. The palate has good length and finishes off with a fresh acidity.
